Waterways, small shops, cafés and winding streets create a relaxed atmosphere that’s a world away from the main shopping streets. The scavenger hunt through Freiburg takes you into a neighbourhood that’s not just a backdrop, but one that invites you to take a closer look.
In spring and summer, the alleyways feel particularly lively, and on warm days, seeing people with their feet in the Bächle is almost part of the cityscape. In the early evening, a softer light falls on the façades and canals, whilst the area becomes more tranquil after the shops close. In winter, shorter days, crisp air and the illuminated old town create a more peaceful atmosphere.
