Around the Hauptmarkt, you’ll find colourful façades, bustling alleyways and numerous cafés. At the Porta Nigra, the city’s Roman past feels particularly immediate, whilst at the Imperial Baths, the monumental scale of the ancient city becomes apparent. The Electoral Palace and the adjoining Palace Gardens provide a striking contrast with their stately architecture and green spaces. Jüdemerstraße and Brückenstraße, on the other hand, lead you into a bustling part of the city centre with shops, restaurants and easy access to other streets in the Old Town.
